President's Message:
Welcome to the Western New York chapter of PDMA. For our chapter the past year has been exciting having grown our local PDMA membership by 37% amidst a busy series of evening seminars, social events, the “Leaders are Readers” series of morning book reviews, and the year end Spring conference.
Though successful, we find our members in the midst of change, one where the Western New York business environment is in transition. Globalization, shifting of business strategy and the proliferation of small, highly skilled companies offers us new opportunities, opportunities to build a new community where we leverage the vast knowledge base we enjoy in this unique region.
These will be exciting times, one where PDMA can help provide the tools, the networks, the resources to accelerate innovation and create an environment for success. Our program this year will include more networking events, targeted seminars, and a dynamic conference all providing resources to help you with your immediate needs.
Please join us in building this community of knowledge, knowledge that will bring us together and knowledge that will enable all of our goals. The Product Development and Management Association of Western New York (PDMA of WNY) is a local chapter of an international organization of new product development professionals dedicated to the improvement of new product development processes and practices. We represent product and service professionals from a broad range of businesses and industries, academia and service providers, and foster the sharing and exchange of best practices in the area of new product and service development.
Volunteer:
The Board of the local WNY Chapter is always in the process of identifying candidate board members. Our Chapter has been successful with a board consisting of a cross-section of people with different types of product development experience. We would like to maintain that diversity as we add new board members. You can help by suggesting practitioners, academics and consultants you think would contribute to the Board's efforts to continue the relevant, high quality programs you have come to expect from your local chapter. You do not have to be a member of the national organization to participate as a member-at-large on the WNY PDMA board.
